My Zero Gravity Experience!

I’ve always been fascinated with space, I saw the Apollo 11 moon landing when I was but a curious little child which created a very sentimental space within my heart that I carry till this day. I grew up staring up at the sky, its captivating stars, the moon – I guess the plethora of luminous figures shining through the darkness of space gave me hope in my darkest hours in some way. The sight was to me – as is today – indescribably beautiful; Millions upon millions of little lights and endless possibilities farther than our neural realities could ever fathom yet still reaching our sight ignited a ferocious curiosity in little me that led me on a search for the mystique, unknown, the unknowable, and all things hidden, a curiosity and quest I am proud to be burdened with till this day.

Coming from a small town called Sukkur, the idea of space travel was unfathomable. Now having the blessing of being alive in a time where even commercial space flights are almost a possibility, I plan to take on the experience to travel to space whenever the stars may align, but when an opportunity comes knocking at my door to experience zero gravity, I simply could not resist. This is as close to a spacewalk as I can get – for now at least, and I was all for it.

ZERO-G is the only private “zero gravity” aircraft in the world: a specially engineered Boeing 727, able to perform extraordinary maneuvers at 40,000 feet to fly in parabolic paths creating micro and zero gravity. Famous passengers who took on the ZERO-G experience include Richard Branson, Sergey Brin, Elon Musk, Martha Stewart, Stephen Hawking, James Cameron, Tony Hawk, Buzz Aldrin, Burt Rutan, and now.. me 🙂

ZERO-G flights operate in a dedicated block of 10 miles wide and 100 miles long, it flies up and  down , as if going up and down a series of gently rolling hills, rising  and falling about 10,000 feet. This creates a reduced gravity environment that last about 30 seconds alternating with periods of higher g-forces. This flight profile produces a near exact sensation to what one would feel on Mars, on the Moon, or on a spacecraft operating in space.

I’ve recorded the whole experience for you and here is my Vlog. It was a humbling experience. To see one’s my body float with no control whatsoever on peripherals gives you the realization of just how fragile we are, and how strong Mother Nature is.

If you ever get the chance to experience it for yourself, you don’t want to miss it.

I hope you enjoy the video!
